Scratch Game Design

My user experience influenced me a lot. They helped me see what could be changed and what was really good. I love doing fun and weird things that no one would ever think of and the user helped with my imagination and changing things up in my game. I tried to make my game hard but not so hard that you cant win. Also it helps me see that a lot of people do coding and scratch and that even though its sort of hard they never give up they keep on trying. I've had some trouble in code but seeing that everyone keeps trying it gives me the strength to not give up and keep on trying. Everyone has helped me so much.

There are a lot of features in this game. For example a feature in these games are the sprites and the platforms. Also the background is a feature. Some more features in this game are timer, the backdrops, the scripts for the sprite to be able to move and for the backdrops to. A lot of games don't really teach you things, we play them because they are fun. But in the scratch game it's fun, it challenges us and it teaches us at the same time.  The scratch game is not like all the regular games it's different, I love trying new and different things because it challenges my brain and makes it work after school. We can learn from really fun games and we won't even know that we are learning, at first I didn't know that we could learn from that game because it was so interesting.

I think my best code was the plat former game even though its not the best game I made but its the hardest code I've made. I really like it but it doesn't really work that smooth it has a lot of bugs in it. My first game I made called the chase game didn't have that much bugs as the plat former game but the coding was really easy so it didn't challenge me. My most difficult bug fix was in the plat former game. It was making the sprite be able to jump, at first when I pressed the up arrow it would go to the right and it would try to walk in the wall. I had to delete my whole script and start all over. I had to do it a couple times but after 5 times I got it to work.

Invention Commercial

My teams main goal for this project was to make everyone laugh when they see this video . We also wanted to show that with the Stash Cam you can have the best time surfing while getting it on video. Our other goal for this project was when you watch the video you want to buy it right away and go to the beach and use the Stash Cam.

My best team moment in this project during production was saying the script in pidgin. It was super hard not to laugh while we were videotaping. I absolutely loved making the video and pretending that it was going to be on Tv . We had a very fun time shooting this video and being able to do it at the beach. While we were videotaping I looked around, everyone was happy and having fun that was the best thing ever.

During my teams post-production editing Wailana did all the padding and editing the sound because she was really interested in doing this and she was really good at it.  Kalista Did all of the transitions and did some off the footage. Why she did the transitions and took some of the footage was Wailana and I were in the footage she had to take and she did the transitions because she knew if we needed transitions there or if it wouldn't look good. I would watch the video at the end and make all the little corrections that we needed. I didn't do a lot of the editing because I was in most of the footage.

Composition Scavenger Hunt

I think the most important composition is the rule of thirds subject. Why I think it is the most important to me is it really shows that you are really neat and organized it your photography. If someone is looking at your photography and its really sloppy and all shaky or unfocused they wont think its really that good. The rule of thirds composition technique helps you with keeping everything organized and neat and everyone will think that you are really good at video taping or taking photos.

I think the most difficult composition is the ground level, because you have to go as close to the ground. Also if something hits your camera it can get scratched. Why I think its so hard for me is, whenever I put the camera as close to the ground it always gets blurry, and its hard to see because you are bending down really low. I can use the ground level composition more by using it when i'm at the beach trying to take a photo of the wave crashing on the sand. Or when I want to take a photo of something on the ground like a little ant, you wouldn't want to use the point of eye composition you wouldn't be able to see the ant.

My teammates in this project was Kalista Brigante Wailana Marvin. Kalista Brigante  edited  all the shots we took. She also put in all the transitions, music and the titles. Wailana Marvin was the actress in most of the shots and she videotaped some of the videos at the end. I was also a actress in a couple shots and I padded everything.

Cracking the Code

I think everyone should learn how to code because a lot of kids at home sit on the computer and play games, they could be learning how to code. Its a lot more better then sitting and doing nothing, it challenges your brain and makes you think really hard. I have been coding right now in Mr.Sanderls and I think it is very fun! Even though it is pretty hard the first time I think if you keep on doing it you can get really good at it.

My experience working with code was good for the first time. At first it was easy and then it kept on getting harder and harder. I thought it was very challenging. You really have to follow the instructions and be a complex thinker. After I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy and fun. When you first try its really easy then when you get around number 15 thats when you really have to use your brain and never give up.I think if you try it you will have a lot of fun.

If I could design any program or game..... It would be a game called coding is fun! You could make up any person or choose any disney character. You would have to try to get all the food in your bag by moving up, down, sideways, circles, jumping, or ice skating. It would go up to 30 levels, it would get harder and harder but one level will be super easy. On the 30th level you have to type in where you want to go in code, it is probably gonna be really challenging.

My Humorous Monologue

I have learned a lot of things from my humorous monologue some things are, learning how to import videos to iMovie. Also what the difference of B-roll and A-roll is. Another thing I learned from the project is how to work a camera and how to take the memory card and put it on a flash drive. Also making a joke and putting it on a joke plan. I Learned that timing is very important when you are telling your joke, you should be on time. One last thing I learned is, how to make a joke and make people laugh.

Pad is space around an element's content and margins or borders. The length or running time in your movie or video. Its extra footage before your video or movie of after it. Padding your clips is crucial because if you don't pad your movie or video will look really choppy. Also it wont look like it all works together and not all separated. Plus when you end the movie nothing will cut off and you will see your whole video and nothing chopped off at the end or beginning.

My biggest weakness in the comedic monologue was taking the videos and my voice and editing it to make it all fit together. Also I had trouble with taking my videos and putting it on to my computer. What I thought was very easy in my project was importing everything onto iMovie. Another thing I thought was easy was filming my B-roll and A-roll plus making up my joke. Ways I can improve on is when the teacher give instructions or directions I should really listen really close and not play around while he's talking. Also when I put all my work in my folder I should name it so I stay organized and not know where everything is.

Comedy Writing

Sense of humor is an important character trait because a lot of people have stressful days and they would really want to read something that is funny. If we didn't have a sense of humor none of us would be funny. If someone was sad we wouldn't be able to brighten up their day with a funny story. We need to be able to laugh and giggle, it brightens up there day no one wants to be sad all day and never laugh. Having a sense of humor is very important in our lives.

Five tips to write a humorous narrative is... A big and loud voice so everyone can here and speaking in a tone to match the narrative, VOICE MATTERS!! The Secret to Humor is SURPRISE, Most humor relies on surprise, one way or another. Also make a connection with your audience. Define your attitude in the story, how does the story make you feel? Happy? Sad? Angry? Lastly, be passionate about what your writing it makes you story become a lot more stronger!

My comedic monologue is about my brother doing ninja tricks and trying to teach kids how to be a ninja turtle. But he fell off the bed and fell on his face and grabbed my parents curtains and ripped them and he broke my parents rods. I think my comedic monologue is funny because I was right there when it happened and video taping the whole thing. My brother is super clumsy even though he got hurt after he was laughing. My parents got really mad at him but laughing at the same time. It was also funny when he fell on his face.

Motivational Poster

For our motivational poster at Kapaa Middle School, I need 2 text layers, only one for your manifesto and the 3 other text layers will be of your personal quotes. You will have 4 image layers, 1 portrait only of your face and 3 images that represent who you are. your design requirements you are gonna need to kern both text layers with no blank spaces on your paper. Also you will need a triadic color scheme its 1 dominant and 2 harmonious accent colors from the color wheel. You will also need a visual balance its equal weight of elements in a design. Lastly you will have blending options and adjustment layers for your image.

To make my motivational poster....I first made personal quotes, then I made my manifesto. After I was done with that I copied it and put it into Photoshop and made 2 text layers, my manifesto then my personal quotes. I started to kern the words to make it fit the whole paper without any blank spaces. When I was done with all of that I had to add 4 other layers, 3 text layers that represent who I am and 1 portrait only of your face. Then I had to put in my triadic color scheme for my whole blog, and made everything look colorful. Now I had to blend and adjust all the layers and images to make everything fit.

My biggest challenge for making my motivational poster was getting my 4 photos on the computer and blending it in with my manifesto and personal quotes. Getting everything organized and making the letters pop out with color around it, was also very hard. I can improve this for next time by asking for help when ever I need it and not being scared to ask anyone and right down everything that you didn't really get so you can remember what to do.

Personal Manifesto

We're back to school! Ready to learn and figure out about ourselves, here's me. Surfing is my life I absolutely love doing it. I like making pottery and sculpture’s because I feel like an artist when I make something new. The ocean is my oasis because whenever I feel frustrated the ocean calms me down. I love traveling around the world because it makes me feel alive and getting to experience so many things in the world. I love laughing.

Stop wishing start doing. Do it now, sometimes later becomes never. If it doesn't challenge you it won't change you. Never say I can't. Stay focused and never give up. Work hard dream big. Everyday is a second chance. Nothing great ever came that easy. Believing in yourself is the first secret to success. If you have a positive mind many things are possible. Be passionate , never give up. Learn to the fullest. Everyday is a chance to get better. Live with a purpose. Follow a map to it's edges, and keep going. Let curiosity be my guide. Let the journey unfold before me.

My manifesto can apply to you because we all like to believe in our self and be happy every single day. Be the person who you are in your heart. Don't let people tell you who you are, be yourself. Be open to who you are and free, don't close up just because someone doesn't like who you are. Be strong don't ever change yourself! We should do what we love. This is from my heart and what I think. I say this to myself every single day I hope that you will do the same!
